CEO Message
“Ethical management” means the corporation goes beyond the observance of the economic responsibility or the legal responsibility and implements ethical responsibility, which is expected as a social, common idea, and makes it a duty of the corporation. If there had been no legal problem in the past, even if it partially goes against the social, common idea, it had been tolerated in the name of custom. But, now, because of the spreading of the global standard, an ethical standard with a stricter yardstick had been applied. And, now, ethical management has been entrenched as one of the corporate survival strategies. While the transparent management and the ethical management of Handok had been entrenched by becoming deeply rooted within the core value and the management philosophy of the company, they had continued without a change for over 70 years. And they have been put into practice overall, including the corporate culture, the job process, the communication, etc. The transparency of the management has been continuously strengthened, including the very first introduction of the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system in the pharmaceutical industry, the voluntary installation of the Audit Committee, the introduction of the ICFR (Internal Control over Financial Reporting), and the exemplary putting into practice and management of Compliance Program in the industry. Recently, as Handok’s anti-bribery management system received the ISO 37001 certification, the ethical management system had been systematized even more effectively. In the future by making the ethical management into a core competitiveness of the company, Handok will establish the friendly relations with the diverse stakeholders of the company. Also, Handok will continue to practice ethical management under the higher ethical standards to become a respected company.

To achieve our mission with a creative spirit of challenge and to create an integral and transparent business climate based on high morality, we pledge to use this Charter of Ethics as a standard for actions and value judgment and that all employees must follow.
  • Handok will bring customer satisfaction and true worth by supplying the best quality medicinal and health care products to our customers; protect property and interests of our customers and form partnership with mutual respect.
  • In addition, Handok will promote benefits for our shareholders and investors through maximization of corporate value based on efficient management with continuous innovation. We will also establish a mutually trusted relationship by delivery of accurate and transparent accounting information and sincere public announcements.
  • Handok will comply with social norms as well as the applicable laws and regulations, respect market economic order based on free competition principles and pursue mutual prosperity by establishing community relations in cooperation with all the stakeholders.
  • Handok will respect all employees’ personality based upon mutually equal trust and reliability and will not engage in any discrimination. We will inspire all employees with a sense of ownership through fair assessment and compensation for their performance, while making every effort to ensure their safety, health and greater quality of life.
  • Handok will perform social responsibilities and obligations through proactive engagement in social welfare programs as a member of society and contribute to social development by compliance with laws and job creation. Anti-Bribery Policy
Handok has prepared an anti-bribery policy and is committed to fully comply with the policy aiming at the respected global healthcare company in the pursuit of ethical and moral management.
  • We will never engage in any corruption and illegal acts with high standards of ethics.
  • We will comply with local and global laws and regulations related to anti-bribery, and requirements of management system for anti-bribery, and internal policies.
  • We will set the goals for anti-bribery; establish and put in place anti-bribery management system and to achieve its continued improvement.
  • We must report to Company any violations against this policy and anti-bribery immediately upon the awareness, and Company will protect the complainant from retaliation for reporting concerns in good faith.
  • Company will delegate the full and sole responsibility and authority to the Anti-bribery Officer in connection with anti-bribery management.
  • Unless any reasonable actions are taken despite any violation or detected violation against this policy and anti-bribery laws and regulations, the Company will take appropriate actions according to the internal policy.
