Handok Celebrates 70th Anniversary with Publication of 'Handok Archive 70: The Road to Innovation'

Handok has published a company chronicle titled 'Handok Archive 70: The Road to Innovation' to mark its 70th anniversary this year. This chronicle goes beyond a simple history, illustrating Handok's identity and the direction it aims to take in the future. It also provides insights into the development of Korean industry and the pharmaceutical sector over the past 70 years.

'Handok Archive 70' compiles the 70-year history of Handok, which has continuously innovated to meet the demands of the times, guided by the founding spirit of contributing to healthy lives. In the late 1950s, Handok produced pharmaceuticals at the level of advanced countries, contributing to the modernization of the domestic pharmaceutical industry and saving foreign currency. Since then, Handok has pioneered paths not taken by others, striving to do the right thing through transparent management, a people-centered corporate culture, and an open innovation strategy in R&D. The chronicle includes not only moments of growth but also challenges, presenting an unvarnished account of Handok's 70-year history.

In addition to Handok's history, 'Handok Archive 70' offers a look at the modern history of Korea, which grew from a barren state after the Korean War, the history of the pharmaceutical industry, and the evolution of pharmaceutical advertising. It covers significant historical events such as the 1951 Busan International Market fire, the 1997 financial crisis, and the 2000 separation of prescribing and dispensing.
